Death Eater Mask by random-soul Death Eater Mask by random-soul
Just finished this Death Eater mask for Halloween. To make it, I covered my face in plaster cloth to get the shape, then built on top of the plaster mask with paper clay. Then I sanded it, scribed in the lines, and finally painted it with silver spray paint, and weathered it with acrylics. It was tons of fun! \

Note that this is three images of one mask, just to get all the angles :)

Edit1: Not for sale, as this was a one-off type project. If you're interested in other things in my gallery that are for sale, check out my web page (listed on my Devious Info).

Edit2: Holy wow, a DD! My first! Many thanks to all of you!

I want to make a mask like this myself.
I m going to purchase a premade mask ^^
You have any tips on painting on the little swirly marks?

I actually didn't paint them on; they're etched into the surface of the mask.  First I very carefully sketched the lines with a pencil, using photos for reference, until I got the design perfect.  Then I took a small carving tool used for printmaking, and scribed over my pencil design.  You can get these tools fairly inexpensively at an art supply shop like Dick Blick. After that I weathered the whole mask with some black paint, making sure to get paint into all the lines I carved, and rubbing the rest away with a paper towel.  Hope this helps you :)

This is Great random-soul! I was looking for a Death Eater mask pattern that I can run through my Graphtec Vinyl cutter straight from Illustrator when I ran across your AWESOME work! I plan on using a store-bought mask for the base on THIS go-around.

That is way cooler than the masks they use in the movies.
