This is a leather mask. It was made from buckskin leather, on which I used a technique called "wax-hardening". I created a paper pattern for the mask, and then re-created it in leather. Since it's wax-hardened, the leather holds its form.
Cool design! I like the way the colors worked out - treebark grays and mostly-low-saturation browns, it matches the sort of roughed texture and the overall shape to create something very organic. The profile shots are great.
